Legalization of russia's occupation of Crimea will open dangerous precedents for the whole world, — Kira Rudik

Ukraine's partners should understand all the risks for the global legal system from a precedent that would create recognition of the occupied Crimea as russian, even de facto. Ukrainian MP and «Golos» party leader Kira Rudik emphasizes this.  «We must actively explain to our partners that any attempts to legalize russia's territorial occupation will set a precedent. And it can be used even against our partners, who at first glance do not have disputed territories», — summarizes the leader of the «Golos».   Also, to minimize the risks that the USA may withdraw from the negotiation process, Ukraine should develop a strategy of interaction with both parties of the American Congress and European partners. «Ukraine should have a strategy for interaction with representatives of various American political parties, as well as with our European partners. Firstly, on the one hand, Ukraine is proud of its bipartisan support in the USA, and on the other hand, we see efforts aimed at Donald Trump and his team, and less at the Democrats. And they can get a lot of support throughout the year in the upcoming elections and vote in Congress. Second, in addition to the efforts aimed at the United States, we need to work on turning the statements of our European partners into a practical plan. We hope that the team in power directs efforts towards this», — the politician emphasizes.
