Europe must demonstrate strength without waiting for a decision from the U.S. Such a demonstration could be the introduction of the sanctions promised by European leaders. Ukrainian MP and «Golos» party leader Kira Rudik thinks so.  «The illusion that putin wants peace emerged in the White House after President Trump spoke with putin on the phone. Ukraine has already taken significant steps to show Washington that the kremlin does not want peace, and that Kyiv is ready for a truce. However, we now see that putin, who has prepared for the summer campaign, is simply stalling for time», — notes the leader of «Golos». The current task is to introduce new sanctions against the kremlin, as promised by European leaders. «The only thing we can do is urge our European partners to implement the sanctions they loudly announced before. While everyone is hoping for some sort of systemic solution from Donald Trump, we understand that this is a big question, so we are focusing on what is within our control», — the MP emphasizes.
