Protection of our cities and security of the whole Europe, — Kira Rudik called on ALDE parties’ leaders to make sure Ukraine is provided with air defense systems

Ukraine is now in critical need of sky protection and allies can help. Ukrainian MP, «Golos» party leader, ALDE Vice President Kira Rudik appealed to the member countries of the Alliance of Liberals and Democrats for Europe (ALDE) to facilitate the provision of the necessary number of air defense systems and their shells.  «Enemy missiles are aimed at Ukrainian cities every day, taking lives and destroying critical infrastructure. Our anti-aircraft defense still shows high efficiency, but the lack of missiles is already felt. Unfortunately, the price is human life, health, and critical infrastructure facilities», — the MP emphasized. From March 2024, when a new wave of missile terror began, Ukraine's largest hydroelectric power plant — DniproHES — was hit, and the Trypilska thermal power plant, which supplied electricity to the Kyiv, Cherkasy, and Zhytomyr regions, was completely destroyed. The Zmiivska TPP and Kharkiv TPP-5, which fed Kharkiv, were demolished. The Ladyzhynska TPP in Vinnytsia Region, as well as the Burshtynska TPP in Lviv Region, were seriously damaged. For European partners, providing air defense systems to Ukraine is also an investment in their security. «Today, Ukraine is the shield of Europe and is fighting for democratic values. We ask our allies to help us protect our cities while we are fighting not only for our freedom but also for the democratic future of the entire European continent», — the «Golos» leader accentuated.
