Ukraine is grateful to the Ambassador of the United Kingdom for her work in this position and for the deepening of cooperation and friendship between two states. An MP of Ukraine, the leader of the Golos party, ALDE vice-president Kira Rudik emphasized this during the Farewell Reception at the Embassy.

Melinda Simmons is a British diplomat who has been working as the Ambassador of the United Kingdom to Ukraine since 2019. She is known for her consistent support of Ukraine during the full-scale war. The UK Embassy left the Ukrainian capital shortly before the beginning of russian invasion. However, since April 2022, it has permanently stayed in Kyiv, despite numerous massive russian missile attacks.
