We have secured long-term support on the political and humanitarian levels — Kira Rudik on a working trip to Iceland
Systemic opposition to russian influence and long-term support for Ukraine — this is what the leader of the Golos party, ALDE vice-president Kira Rudik agreed on with the Icelandic parliamentarian Hanna Katrín Friðriksson.
«Iceland shows support for Ukraine and we have to consolidate and strengthen it. The Liberal Reform Party, represented by Hanna Katrín Friðriksson in the Icelandic parliament, understands this perfectly. We secured support to systematically oppose russian influence and agreed to promote long-term support of Ukraine on the political and humanitarian levels», — the leader of Golos concluded the meeting.
Hanna Katrín Friðriksson is an Icelandic parliamentarian from the Liberal Reform Party, a sister party of the Alliance of Liberals and Democrats for Europe, whose vice-president is Kira Rudik.
The leader of Golos also met with representatives of the Icelandic newspaper Fréttablaðið.

«This media is a regular target for ridicule from the russian ambassador for reporting the truth about the events of this war (and russian «diplomacy» in Iceland regularly demonstrates its «classic» techniques — fighting free press that does not succumb to their propaganda). We agreed that no matter where it happens, russia always behaves like russia: only brute force and complete disregard for freedom of speech», — said the MP.
