Ukraine urges the world not to recognize the «elections» that russia will be conducting in the temporarily occupied territories, — Kira Rudik

The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine has called on parliaments and governments around the world not to recognize the illegitimate «elections» that the russian federation intends to conduct in the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine. This appeal was endorsed by 287 MPs. The leader of the Golos party, Ukrainian MP, and Vice President of ALDE, Kira Rudik, commented on this.

«On September 10th, russia has scheduled «the one voting day». Within their own borders, they pretend to «elect» senior officials on this day. The aggressor also intends to conduct such a «vote» in the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine in Donetsk, Luhansk, Zaporizhia, and Kherson regions. This is precisely why the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine urges parliaments and governments worldwide not to recognize these sham russian «elections» and not to yield to the kremlin's persuasion to send observers to this «voting», — the MP emphasized.

The adopted statement also emphasizes that no peace talks with russia can be entertained until russia withdraws its troops from Ukraine.

«The unlawful actions of russia once again confirm that it's impossible to conduct peaceful negotiations with the aggressor while russian troops are killing Ukrainians in Ukraine», stressed — the leader of Golos.
