To effectively counter the kremlin regime, the West needs a strategy of prevention, — Kira Rudik at Multiple Challenges for Transatlantic Partnerships in Prague
An effective countermeasure to the security challenges of the putin regime consists in the creation of a prevention strategy by the West. After all, russian aggression against Ukraine is a threat to the whole world. This was emphasized by the leader of the Golos party, vice-president of ALDE, MP Kira Rudik, speaking at the security panel of the Multiple Challenges for Transatlantic Partnerships conference in Prague.
«To effectively counter security challenges of the Kremlin regime, the West needs a strategy of prevention. We all need to anticipate worst-case scenarios, not fantasize about a response plan after the fact. This applies to the situation at the front, and nuclear threats, and missile terror, and international isolation», — stressed the leader of Golos.
Multiple Challenges for Transatlantic Partnerships is an event attended by more than a hundred well-known politicians, diplomats, public associations and scientists. Challenges for the EU and the USA due to russia's prolonged full-scale war against Ukraine were discussed.
«War is expensive not only for the kremlin. Because of active fighting in the very center of Europe, supply chains are disrupted, the energy crisis continues, and life is becoming more expensive. However, this should not reduce or slow down the support that Ukraine needs. best response to russian terror of the civilian population is to supply Ukraine with weapons, anti-aircraft systems and increase sanctions against the aggressor. This is now a security issue not only of our country, but also of the whole world», — emphasized the MP.
Also on the sidelines of the conference, Kira Rudik met with Štefan Füle, former European Commissioner for Enlargement and European Neighbourhood Policy.
