Technologies and progress are important tools for the protection of democracy, — Kira Rudik in Taiwan

In order to effectively resist the enemy and protect our freedom and values, Ukraine needs the support of the entire democratic world, including those countries that want to become democracies. And at the same time involve all available progressive technologies. This was stated by the leader of the Golos party, MP and ALDE vice-president Kira Rudik, speaking in the Taiwan Parliament.

«Today, Ukraine and Ukrainians are showing the world how to fight for their freedom and values. But we need support and maximum collaboration with all democratic countries and those who want to be democracies. Taiwan has supported Ukraine since the first day of the full-scale rashist invasion and we are grateful for this assistance. Taiwan's digital experience and productive discussions about democratic information space and how to make technology work for democracy are also important to us», — stressed the leader of Golos.

Aid from Taiwan is fundraising, humanitarian goods, support for forced migrants, and financing the reconstruction of liberated territories. This country allocated half a million dollars each for the reconstruction of Sumy, Chernihiv, Kharkiv, Mykolaiv, Zaporizhzhia, and Bucha, and three million dollars for the reconstruction of Kyiv. Funding for humanitarian needs is 33 million dollars and this assistance is still ongoing.

«The main thing is that Taiwan is not afraid to call a spade a spade and immediately introduced sanctions against the russian federation. They are painful, because it is a ban on the export of technologies, microchips, and semiconductors», — emphasized the MP.

During the trip, Kira Rudik met with the President of the Republic of China (Taiwan) Tsai Ing-wen, and the Speaker of the Parliament of Taiwan You Si-kun. Besides, she talked to the local media, to whom she told about the situation in our country and the attacks from russia.
