Both Ukraine and our allies need bold decisions regarding the confiscation of russian assets, — Kira Rudik at the European Economic Congress

The key thing for Ukraine now is support and reconstruction, and Ukrainians understand how expensive it is. That is why the confiscation of russian assets will help both Ukrainians and our Western partners. This was emphasized by an MP of Ukraine, leader of the Golos party, and vice-president of ALDE Kira Rudik, speaking at the XV European Economic Congress in Katowice.

«Not only Ukraine but also our partners need bold decisions regarding the confiscation of russian assets. This is about the reconstruction of the things destroyed by the russian federation, and about the fact that our neighbors should not spend their citizens' money if there is russian money. We are determined and ready to push harder.

After all, everything is very simple: according to the World Bank, Ukraine's losses are $411 billion, and frozen russian assets (sovereign and private) amount to $500 billion. Only Poland provided us with €11 billion in aid, which is 2% of their GDP. We are grateful to the Poles, but it is difficult for them too», — emphasized the MP.

According to Kira Rudik, the world should react more decisively to russia's violation of international law, otherwise, the aggressor will perceive the lack of an adequate response as weakness.

«russia is an aggressor state that literally spits on international law, violates the world order, and poses a threat to the civilized world. Then the answer should be systematic and fair. And we need reconstruction today, not someday. We are getting closer to joining the EU, we have common democratic values and a common goal — security and justice. And together we will achieve it», — stressed the leader of Golos.
